Actually, the moonclips were the response to the shortage of sidearms during WW1, so that they could use the duty round (45 ACP) in the revolvers, as they were easier to come by then the 1911 at the time. The Autorim came about after the war, when civilian shooters decided that moonclips (actually half moon clips then, full moonclips came along later as well) were a pain in the ass. With the AR rounds, you just load and eject like any other revolver round. I shoot AR a lot, in various guns. - dan
