I was setting up my new press today. I have dies for .45 GAP, .45 ACP, .44 MAG/SPC and decided to try the GAP first. When I was picking everything up a couple of weeks ago at Higginson Powders I thought I remembered reading GAP used a small pistol primer and I asked if that was correct. The gentleman pulled out some information (it was Lee's) and said it used large pistol primers. Unfortunately they didn't have any so I headed over Le Barons and picked a few thousand. Long story short, I was popping out the old primers and thought they looked pretty small after a side by side comparsion and they are in fact small pistol primers!! I was just reading online and found an article that Speer and Glock originally tried large pistol primers and then switched to the small pistol primer. Anyone else run into this?

On the bright side you can use the large primers for the .45acp!

I have several different types of brass for my .455, some use large primers, some use small. If reload .45acp Winclean be aware that they use small primers as well.

Yeah I was planning on using the large for everying as they told me I could get away with the large for .44 mag as well as opposed to a mag primer. I never would have guessed that about Winclean ACP! Thanks for the heads up!

Been shooting my G37 for four years now and it takes nothing but small pistol primers. The GAP first came out with large primers, but regular production ammo all has small primers. Great thing about this cartridge is I don't have to swap out primers when switching to 9mm or .40S&W.
