45 JHP - something other than Hornady?

I would love to see someone test that RIP ammo on something like a frozen turkey or something. The stuff just looks wildly deadly.
I won't speak for the OP, but I have a box just cause they're kewl...I'm actually on the hunt for some R.I.P. ammo in either .44 mag, .357 mag, .45 acp or 9mm for the same reason. Most of us just kind of collect semi-obscure ammo when it becomes available, nothing nefarious.

Perhaps he wants HP ammo because a HP bullet has a longer bearing surface when compared to a round ball FMJ of the same mass, and so wants to test whether that factor contributes to superior accuracy when fired through his barrel?

Or perhaps you need him to justify what type of ammo he wants to shoot by some other metric?

The OP didn't mention the legendary "feeding issues" associated with HP... nor did he mention the legendary reliability congruent with the ball ammo his firearm was "designed for"... which may or may not be valid when talking about a 1911... but maybe or maybe not in the case of a Heckler & Koch USP?
