45 long to 454 casull ?

the real question is CAN IT HANDLE THE PRESSURE INCREASE- there's only roughly 1/8 inch diff between the two, but yards of prssure

yes thats the question i bring to the community, can a H&R 48 topper chambered in 45 Colt Long handle being reamed to a 454 Casull Mag. will the rifle then be able to handle the extra pressure of said cartridge.for i'm not an expert, but I know that there is an expert out there somewhere.you see the H&R's chambered for the 444, 450, 44 mag, 300 mag, 338 mag ect...

The SAAMI pressure limit for .45 Colt is 14,000 psi and for .454 Casull is 50,000 cup (nearly 60,000 psi). There is no way of knowing to what strength level the H&R barrel has been heat treated to without performing a definitive destructive tensile test; so the practical answer is to forget it.
