Nice! Is that russian ammo to complete the picture? Let me guess, marked 60 on top 50dated & little arrow in a triangle on the back of the stripper clip? I have taken to collecting batches of 7.62x54r & have russian dated 1935(yellow tip), 1945 & 1950.

The clips are new ( Numrich ) with nothing stamped on them at all.
They had a brass colored finish , which I wasn't too crazy about...
...so , a propane torch , a smear of blue and a thin coat of oil fixed that.

The ammo has the numbers 71 and 67 .

that's one of the prettiest looking M44's I've seen in a while! Nice! How's it shoot?

I think your ammo is Hungarian surplus, no?

I havn't ranged it yet , but I just might try the "fireball" test tonite ;)
I have no idea what manufacture the ammo is ( gunshow purchase)
So long as that big pill hits what I'm aiming at is all that matters ...lol
My 91/30 likes this ammo.

Nice M44

As far as the hungarian surplus - my friends SVT 40 absolutely hates this stuff.
Blown primers and overpressure signs on every round fired. We are going to try czech surplus and some commercial S&B last resort reloading.
