Dude, we've already got the .50 Beowulf, which matches the .500 S&W in power and can be fired from an AR-15 with a simple barrel change.

Yeah, but Hornady doesn't make the .50 Beowulf, so brass is spendy, load data nonexistent, etc. etc. This is like taking the whole idea of the .458 SOCOM and .50 Beowulf and moving it to a larger market. Me likee...

I saw it at SHOT last week.
A team effort between Hornady and Bushmaster.
The one sample round I saw did not even have a headstaamp, it is that new.
It makes the AR platform a bit more versatile, good for hunting etc.
If only the AR15 wasn't limited to a range in Canada.

what a heap of BS. a 250gr SST sounds like a great deer round, but as a bear stopper, don;t think sooo.....

I'm sure they will sell like hot cakes none the less
