452 American Stock

I recently purchased a CZ 452 American. I was under the impression that they did not come with laminate stocks.

Is this laminate?

I would say wood of some sort and not laminate

As noted above, that is a beech stock (and for beech it is a very nice one). CZ made some 452 Americans with beech stocks for the Australian market. I had one and the box had markings or a sticker on it that left that clear impression.

There is no doubt about it because the receiver is also mate finish.

The walnut stock 452's have gloss finish on the receiver.

I've no real issues with beech. It be harder & tighter grained than walnut, & more stable over time. Only buggaboo with beech & similar woods is they don't pull in stain very well along with not a ton of figure in most cases.
