was at the range the other day with my cz.45 and 686 and other toys. We have a good range and detonated 1 lb of gryphon energetics binary target, fun times you need to buy some www.ammosupply.ca A man came over as he heard the boom we had some laughs and he introduced me to his ruger .454 casull with a simmons scope let me try 6 rounds and I can say I'm hooked 4 for 6 in 3'' group not bad for never having shot a cannon before sadly the war dept. would kick my ass if I bought a 3rd gun this month I'll bide my time and watch the ee lots of fun

Sounds like you need a Smith 460V. They can shoot .454 Casull as well as .460V and .45LC if I remember correctly.

Bigger may or may not be better but is a lot of fun, just got a 44 Mag for the occasional range trip but the current powder shortage is really putting the dampers on my shooting.

Those have got to be pretty old. Personally I like loading 454 Casull with 340 gr hard cast.

Same reason as in the States, you might need to put a large deep hole into something. I prefer heavy, hard cast WFNs, but not everyone shares my point of view.

I routinely use Hornady XTP/XTP MAGS when I can't get the hard cast WFN's that I prefer.

I have fondled the Freedom Arms .454 several times now. This gun is on my must have list. It fits the hand really well. That gun is built like a tank and has great tolerances.

The Freedom Arms gun I lust over is the 4.75" fixed sight version in .500 Wyoming. Fortunately, this thing is expensive enough that I probably won't bite.

Yes they can but my Ruger 44mag felt more exiting to shoot. I'll stick to 460magnums in the 460V….

I can guarantee you that the 460XVR will put a sh*t eatin' grin on your face like you've never experienced before and yes the fact they also shoot .454 & .45LC is an added bonus.

Just as an FYI.. the .454 is by no means a wimpy round. It was toted as being the most powerful handgun round for a long time but it pales in comparison to the .460. I liken the difference in it to that of the .38Spl vs a .357 round.
