Was over visiting a friend who happens to have a vintage Colt 455 Eley pistol. On this pistol is an engraving that states something along the lines of "...presented to Maj. Barret ACOR for long service....1914". I asked him if he knew the value and he had no clue. Anyone here have some idea? I'll have to get a few pics which might help in determining the value.

If it's a Colt New Service in nice shape and you can prove providence to the name engraved on it, and especially war service, then it may be worth considerably more than $250 - $450. Just saw one that was RCMP marked go for around $995 at our local shop...

If it's one of the rare Colt SAA's in .455 then value could be considerably more... providence proven or not....
