I guy I know has a WW1 S&W .455 revolver.
It looks to have been issued to a British unit and then to Canadians as the cylinder face has DCP and pennants beside all six chambers.
There are numbers stamped on the backstrap that have been lined out, a 1 on top, an HR beneath that and a 2 below that.
Anyone know what the backstrap markings mean?
