I was wondering if any of you know if it is safe to fire smokeless powder (like unique) in the .455 revolver. If so what powder charge would be appropriate, bullet weight and most importantly the OAL?
Any help would be appreciated.

There were so many different bullet designs for 455 that OAL is not nearly as important as load and bullet. With the forcing cone, revolver is very forgiving for OAL variances, as opposed to the rifles.

Look at gunloads.com and similar sites, this calibre is one of the most shot antique calibres in the world (after 38 of course!) and there are many loads available.

I believe I posted Lee .455 data sometime ago that covered Unique, I think 4.1gr with a 265gr bullet but don't rely on that, try searching the reloading section.
