In searching for some Sierra 300 grain HP bullets for my 45-70, I came across some Remington .457 bullets. The package was labeled 45-70 but the diameter was stated as .457. I didn't buy them. Would that .001 have made a difference in hunting accuracy or am I just being obsessive about it.

Jacketed bullets usually work okay if they are .001" on the small side, cast is just the opposite, as i prefer .459", I think you will find that quite a few J-word bullets are .457" and they seem to work for most, I just never use 'em.
