Im looking for a good quality .22LR for target shooting at the range (25-100yards) and squirrel/grouse hunting. I do have a 10/22 and a mark2, looking for something more refined and with better accuracy (and well I get bored easily) but I can't decide what to get next....anyone have any experience with cz457, bergara bmr (bmr-x look pretty sweet) or a tikka t1x? From what I've read they all seem to have equal amounts of pros and cons. Anyways, appreciate any feedback. Thanks

CZ 457. Have one. With target quality ammo 0.5" groups at 50m and 1" groups at 100m in no wind conditions. Very good choice for your intended uses.
Thanks, what power scope would you recommend for shooting out to 100m? And for anything in between?

Probably can’t go wrong with any of the options.

But the CZ457 series does offer the greatest options in initial rifle purchase and support after purchase (aftermarket’s Probly only second to the 10/22).

I have two 457s. One with the 20” threaded sporter contour barrel and the other with a NON match chamber 20” varmint threaded barrel (with factory muzzle brake). Both rifles seem to shoot great with most ammo’s I have tested with a seeming preference to SK stuff. MOA or Less groups at 50 or 100 yards are not uncommon when I and weather co-operate.

Thanks for that great info. What do you have for scopes on both your 457s?

On my CZ 457 Canadian I presently run a Hawk Vantage 3-9x40AO with a mil dot retical. Good CHEAP optic that offers BASIC hold overs if you wish. This is mounted on the rifle with Burris 11mm dove tail rings.

On the CZ 457 Thumbhole Laminate I run a first Gen Bushnell Match Pro 6-24x50 on Low Vortex 30mm Pro rings mounted on a 40 moa MDT rail.

Very nice cz's, thank you! I do like that canadian. Hold over reticle would be nice for sure

My Tikka T1X will group 1" at 100 yards with CCI SV but not everytime. The CZ457 in 22 WMR is close but it is ammunition sensitive.
At the 100/200 Metre shoots, there are a number of CZ457's shot in Factory configurations and both slightly and heavily modified.
The Tikka is seen less often and only in Hunter Class. While some Bergara rifles were used, they are less combined in numbers with them and Tikka versus CZ457.
My Tikka was bought as a gopher gun but it serves well as a educational rifle with new shooters with a 4-16 scope starting at 50 yards and progressing to 100 yards.

Have the CZ MTR and the Tikka UPR, just bought a Anschutz 1761 MSR, keeping the CZ and the Annie, the CZ like most everything Lapua/SK, best shot at 50 metre with SK standard +.

MTR now sitting in a bravo chassis.

I have a BMR carbon barrel, and it shoots very well, I do find it has been a bit tricky to hold really steady for target shooting. I do hunt with a few light/ultralight guns, so this helps me to work at being more steady with a lighter rifle. I need to put some more work in shooting this year, work has been quite busy the past few and I don’t get out nearly enough.

I have had a CZ 455 previously, and the BMR will outshoot it for sure. I never really was a huge fan of the CZ to be honest, but I picked up all the parts and pieces and had it fitted with all 3 barrels. I wanted to love it, but just couldn’t.

I haven’t had any time with a T1 yet, I hear a lot of good.
