CGN Ultra frequent flyer
Picked up some Hornady .458 dia. 325gr FTX leads for my 450BLR. Just can't find any Hornady 350grRN, or Speer 400gr, and don't want to burn up all my hawks practicing.
Checked my newest Hornady and Lyman manuals(maybe 2 yrs old at most), and with IMR 3031 they show:
300gr lead low load 55gr high load 61gr
350gr lead 45-49.5 53-55gr
For the 325gr I'm thinking a starting load of 48gr up to a high load of around 56gr. I don't plan on hunting with these, just practice, so I'm figuring on a load around 50-53gr, whatever my gun likes.
Sound reasonable?
