So, How deep do you seat these things? I've been ramin em in to about 1.135 COL figuring the lack of any appreciable ogive would run the bullet into the lands if the cartridge were left longer. I see manuals suggesting a COL of 1.24 or so is OK however, so I'm wondering if anyone out there has experience seating this bullet to that length?

I have not use 185 grns bulltes, I only use 230 grns for my 45ACP reloads. If your only concern is the OAL of your reloads. I can tell you right now that I have loaded my 45 rounds up to OAL=1.260" with no problem. You can load long up to 1.24" like what the manual says (some manuals recommends 1.275"), but it will be fully dependent if your magazine will take that long of a round. If you really want to maximize your OAL, make sure that the round length will fit your magazine. That's about the longest you can make for your reloads.

Good luck, reload safely.

Thanx Nognog, it looks like I'll be trying the "drop in" method. From this it appears that 1.207" COL is about right for my pistol using the 185gr JSWC over 6.2g of Vv N320.
