I got the buffer upgrade kit today for my Jr-45 to fix its stove pipe problems, but they also sent a New bolt that is covered in a black synthetic, kinda rubberized feeling, type coating. Has anyone else got these new black bolts or the 45acp? The original bolt I had was stainless steel. Just right carbine says, the new bolt will also improve the firing of this carbine.

Thanks for answering none of my questions, did you even read what I posted or just decided to comment half way through a mid sentence?

Is there any chance you could post a pic of this bolt? Interesting, I got my upgrade in the spring but not a new bolt. Would like to see it. Would like to hear from you as to how it functions now.

I'll take a pic of it, and post it. I just put it in the rifle earlier today. Still gonna go test it this weekend

I got the repair kit also for the 45. Black bolt. It has a wider pick up and better cut out where shell sits on the bolt face. That was half the problem about ejects as some cases are a little wider or different and jam. Mine works flawlessly now.

I own a new JR In .45 and my original bolt is like yours (black). I shot it for the first time last week 150 rounds...80 of them stovepiped or where crimped up. Cleaned the rifle and lubed it properly as well as polished the feed ramps. I also plan on stuffing my two Glock mags full of rounds for a week so as to compress the stiff springs in them. By next week I will head back to the range and let you know how it functions.

I would say after a clean up/polishing of the internals and with the right amount of oil (10-12 drops at most in the entire gun), the rifle cycles by hand a good 3 times better than when I took it out of the box. The feed ramp was sharp and was scraping the brass casings on each round that was fed so I suspect my little clean up should at least take care of that.

In your upgrade kit did you receive the buffer tube extension? Or did you already have it?

I had problems with my 40 JR when I got it . JR was more than helpful with replacement parts at no charge but could not send me a new bolt . (not aloud to ship to Canada) They did give me drawing on how to modify my bolt & the gun works great now

Yes, came with buffer extension tube, buffer, and new bolt. There is nothing on their website about a new bolt for a .45acp either

And new magwel with new feeding ramp

So I took the jr45 out after doing the factory buffer upgrade and now black bolt and I put 200 rounds of norinco 45 acp through it and seen a improvement, but not by much. Still had at least 1 fail to fire, because the bolt doesn't travel I believe far back enough after firing some round, to engage the trigger so next round can fire with a trigger pull. Also, I think this norinco 45acp ammo is garbage also, good for hand guns, but not this rifle. I will test another 200 rounds with blazer ammo, had better results with that in the past, they are more polished round, with a thinner brass casing from what it looks like. And yes, still was having some rounds stand up, and stove pipe, not as many as before, but still enough to annoy the crap out of me.

I've just received the same upgrade for my .45, I haven't installed it yet, but it looks very much the same which is interesting. I would like to see them both on the table. Interested in knowing if it fixes my issue as well..

Leaving a spring compressed does nothing to weaken it or "break it in". Springs wear out from cycling, not compression.
