Do such animals exist in Canada?

Are they legal (providing they are pinned to 5)? I assume yes but I thought there was a specific magazine that was prohibited regardless of capacity (Mac10 maybe?).

The Cartridge Magazine Control Regulations (SOR/98-462 Part 4 Section 3) do not appear to make an outright ban on any specific magazine, even if it otherwise meets the Regulations. What they do do is set out the general criteria for a mag. being a Prohibited Device, and give a list of many *exemptions* to those criteria; there is no ‘notwithstanding’ clause.

I've never seen one of your elusive .45 Uzi mag.s (but I've never gone looking for one).

I don't think you'll find any in Canada.

That being said, I have some great news.

You can purchase a .45 ACP magazine from irunguns.com, and they'll pin it to 5 and import it for you.

The process goes very smooth. Simply indicate you are in Canada during the checkout process, and they then contact you with a quote that includes pinning and import fees.

Last I heard, even for magazines that are normally available in Canada, it came out cheaper to get it from them.

Note : isn't the Uzi considered a pistol? If so, you can purchase the 10-rounder without any need for pinning. So even easier.

red_bailey - ya, I am likely totally wrong, I just had this vague thought but couldn't quite pin it down (get it...pin....ok I know, it wasn't that funny)

sewktbk - that's perfect, I totally missed those on their site!! Thanks!

Quite welcome. Note though, this is through their US website, not irunguns.ca. Thats probably why you missed it. But it really doesn't matter, you can indicate a Canadian shipping address just the same and they import it. Contact Jason over there if you encounter any trouble, he can walk you through it.

Cheers.

It's got something to do with their search filters. If I select promag through filters it only shows some of their mags, but if I just search it on their site with the search tool it comes up. Odd
