Ok so who is buying all of these 45 cal and what they doing with them i dont see to many guys shooting 45cal in IPSC or IDPA

JB i shoot .45 in IDPA and even managed to qualify

Interest revived in the old 45 in the states because of the high mag capacity ban that they had for awhile. Now gone. Before that it was 9 MM everything and how many bullets can I squeeze into my handgun. When mag caps are the same then folks figured well 8 to 10 rds of 45 are better than 10 rds of 9 mm so they voted with their feet. While we do not have the same legislation as the states we tend to follow what's cool down there.

As for 45 in ipsc. There are a fery few that use it. I'm one of them. Most are using the 40 smith and wesson. Shoots major with less recoil which translates to slightly faster times.

I shoot IDPA and IPSC with a 45ACP but it's a revolver. I don't like to chase expensive brass.

Same here Repete, I shoot .45, also in revolver.

I am entered for the nationals and wondering how many others will shoot wheel gun. I hope quite a few. The more the merrier, it should be a hoot. I know of only one other entered, but he could have switched to standard. Hope not!

.45acp for CDP and 9MM for SSP and ESP rounds out my IDPOA pistol wants.

9mm for IPSC Production where there is no major PF requirement.

The .40 cal has uses in IPSC but no advantage in IDPA unless it is your carry gun - like that is going to be the case up here - LEO's excepted.

If I am not mistaken there were at least seven out of 17 at the last IDPA shoot in CDP, which uses .45ACP... Including me!
