45LC bullits are very waxy???

Many/most solid lead bullets have a coating on them.

I have some that look like they have been slathered with axle grease.

It won't hurt the barrel or the rifling. The coating is there to help "prevent" leading up the barrel.

That does look excessive. It won't hurt anything but it might make a mess in your dies and in your chamber. Normally the lube would be in the groove only, unless the bullets were tumble lubed and then the coating should be very thin, so that you can hardly tell it is there.

I've had other lead bullits and they weren't as bad as this. Thought they might have a bit too much on them. They're really sticky.

Won't hurt a thing in the gun but as Jet has said your seating & crimp dies will need cleaning periodically. Watch for your bullets to start to seat a little deeper than you originally set them at, a clear indication that you have a build-up of residue on the seating plug and probably a hard packed ring glued to the die barrel. I just consider it just an inconvenience that is far overcome by the affordability of cast bullets.

If it is a real problem for you, Bullet Barn hard cast products are usually very well lubed without the residue everywhere but they are somewhat more expensive than the "garden variety" I use.

Yes , they are seating a bit deeper, after only 50. Thanks , I'll clean the die. I'll use them up anyway. I usually use campro plated , but xreload was out.
