47sl 10

I have not used it in either of those two cailbers but use it for mild deer hunting loads in a 308. 52gns pushes a 150 Horn at about 2600fps but that's all a case will hold. Judging from that I would think you couldn't get enough powder in a 7-08 case to get satisfactory velocities.
6mm might be another story, it should work good in that case but I have no info.
All I can say is it (47sl-10) appears to be about 2gns slower than H-414 but of course always start lower & work up.

I have burned literally pounds of 47 SL10 in the 6mm, with bullets from 70 grains right up to 100 grains. It is best suited to those weights up to 90 grains, but really makes a zinger out of the 6mm with lighter bullets. I shot as high as 50 grains behind the 70 McCracken, and 47 grains with the 80 Speer FBSP. I would start 3 grains down and work up carefully. IIRC, I got 3600 with the 70 grainer with this powder. If I was starting on the 85 grain bullet, I would go for about 44 grains as a start and work up. Never used it in the 7-08, but I would guess it would be fine, especially for bullets around 130/140 grains. Regards, Eagleye.
