Got this muley this morning..Nice heavy deer.. Took him with a benelli slug gun at about 120 -140 yards..recovered the slug..Good start to my season!!

Nice deer, but I can't help to wonder how that meat will taste after laying out on that fuel tank.

SC........................

fuel tanks are made out of the same material as frying pans so I bet it will taste great as all the deer and moose have that have came home on top of it!!!!I figured since he missed the rut I would let him have some fun on the way home on the tank!!His little buddy with him stayed right beside him until I walked right up and shooed him away, that is two years in a row..Never seen whitetails do that..

Sorry, I wasn't trying to start anything with the original comment.

It's just that I worked as a meat cutter for over 20yrs and know that meat does and will absorb foreign odours very quickly. I assumed that the tank would have a "fuel" smell about it that would get into the meat.

My wronger

He was only on it for a bit until I got to camp anyways but doesnt seem to hut anything. That is why i leave the hide on until i get him home while at work. Most deer I make into sausage and jerky so I guess it hides the diesel smell a bit!!! :D Usually I have a tarp as well but this year I could not find it,If fuel was slopped on top of the tank it would not be good though..
