5.56 bolt with 223?

Is it safe to use a 5.56 BCG bolt with 223 ammo with the appropriate 223 barrel? or did I buy the wrong bolt for my SLR

BCG is fine, it’s not recommended to shoot 5.56 ammo out of a .223 barrel unless it is a .223 Wylde chambered barrel.

For 223/556/300blackout. There is only 1 kind of bolt.

Your barrel dictates which you can shoot out of.

Both .223 Remington and 5.56x45 are fully interchangeable, especially in any "black and green rifle". Fire away.,

I really think this 556/223 thing is bull####. Especially since Winchester now labels their 124gr 9mm, 9mm NATO which according to SAAMI spec, is not safe to interchange with 9mm Luger. Tactards will buy it because it says NATO.

9mm NATO is simply a CIP 9mm load, it's a little more stout than US spec (SAAMI) 9mm which has always been a little limp.

Yes, I understand that and I suspect why SAAMI says its not safe to interchange is because there is a standardized load spec for 9mm Luger while there is no standardized load spec for 9mm NATO. They can't guarantee it will be safe to interchange. I suspect the same is true for .223rem vs 5.56 Nato.
