Hey guys,
I was standing in the garage slugging the bbl on the Enfield at 4am. You know you're a GN when  :D

So I have these slugs... Rammed one from muzzle to chamber and one from chamber to muzzle. Anyone know a good way to measure a 5 groove slug? I'd like to do it accurately but don't have the luxury of an even number.
I'm gonna go back out and try the "turning it slowly in calipers" technique but I don't have the upmost faith in the method. I'll come back in a post my findings.

Any Idea's would be great.

Cheers,
Wally

OK, I put my caliper flat on my bench, dropped the slug between the jaws and slowly turned the slug with one hand as I adjusted the jaws with the other.

The slug I trust the most is telling me .313" (+- .00025") Ran from muzzle to chamber.

The other one didn't cut so clean, I didn't have as much lube on it, I just don't like it. It was giving me a little over .312"

The first one went all the way through with consistant resistance. The rifling looks sharp.... I'd say I've got a good rifle on my hands.

So with a .313 bore, what would be a good bullet to use? Anyone have some good load data? :D :D :D I'm excited now ;)

You can get bullets of .313 diameter from Steve Redgewell at 303british.com.
Damned fine bullets. Shoot very accurately too.
I know but the price makes me shudder. after shipping i'm lookin at about $0.80 a bullet... then i have my other costs.
I haven't ruled it out yet but I'm gonna try other aveanues first.

I'm talkin to wholesale now and I'll probably just buy some hornadys.
