A chap was selling a VZ-52 on the EE and he was including a few 5 rnd stripper clips. I've never seen those before. You chaps know of a source? I wouldn't mind trying a few out.

cheers

I mark the centre of the stripper clip, put it on the vice then with a sharp chisel and hammer give it a good hit bend it to snap it apart. Done.

I've used a Dremel cut-off disk to cut Czech stripper clips in half. I then pinch the cut ends closed (or else the rounds will fall out) and paint the other end red so I can tell at a glance which end goes down!

There is another way which I find quite easy. I use the five round chargers that come on the 7.62 nato rounds. All you have to do is file down the guide lips on all four corners about 3/16 in back. Only file enough off so that the charger will fit into the charger guide on the SKS bolt. Round off the leading edge so they fit the guide smoothly and don't bind. Don't file off to much, if you do the bullets on the end will fall out.

Cheap/easy and you don't have to be careful which end you load into the guide.

x2, paint the crimped end, that way during a competition when time is a factor you won't screw up! I painted mine orange. By cutting them down it is easier to find pouches like the M1 Garand cartridge belt for them to fit into. 100 rds immediately on hand, great for fire and movement matches.

I have used stripper clips for the SKS in CQB shooting (against the clock). I found it best to put 5 rounds on a 10 round strip, so a big handle was available for handling.[/QUO
+2 Works!!!!!! and no mods........so when the C.P are re elected and allow 10 round mags on semi autos, we can all use our original stripper clips !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I go to gun shows and look through the stripper clip buckets. VZ52 ammunition used 5 round strippers but as all VZ ammo is 7.62xsomething (early or late), these strippers also fit the 7.62x39 round ammunition - as a result you get a five round stripper without dinkering around. Often they are mixed in with M14, K98 or Swedish stripper clips.

Go get some shrink tubing and put a piece on half of the clip, so that you can only put 5 rounds on it. You can even get some yellow or orange or red, so that you know not to insert that end.

I cut them at the six or seven round mark and bend it over so I can handle it without looking at it as I load it. I have a five gallon pail full of them so its nothing more than a bit of recycling to some scrap metal.
