5 round STANAG pattern magazines

To quote myself from an thread elsewhere:
... something like the following from PDW: -> https www pdwsolutions com/magazines/standard-magazines/mft-223-5rd-flush-mag-blk

PDW Solutions said:
5 round 5.56 NATO magazine engineered as an enhancement of the standard Stanag design. 5 round maximum capacity due to internal limiter. The bottom of the magazine is Permanently sealed and cannot be readily restored.

I have a 5 round colt, the only mag that has problems feeding. Tried replacing the follower with a magpul and its rough. Would be nice to find something as smooth as butter.

The majority of 5 round AR pattern mags are just 10 round mags with either a restricter or a spring stack limiting it to 5 rounds. Pro mag make or made a proper 5 round AR mag, I had one, it was horrible, disappears into the mag well.

If pinning is not good enough, hopefully someone will create a similar magazine with a hollow extension at the bottom to allow the mag to fit in a pouch.

don't hold your breath Canada is such a small market its probably not worth it for someone to design and manufacture

I could see the Cross Industries doing this for us if their normal Cross Mags get the ban hammer. Smaller spring, internally printed/molded non removable plate, and then their normal swappable plate at the bottom of the now empty portion of the mag.

Accidentally bought a bunch of these thinking they were the regular pinned AWM5. Was not happy then. At least they have a purpose now

Firearms outlet Canada has these for sale at $25 each:MFT AR-15 MAGAZINE - .223/5.56, 30/5-ROUND [PM530]

True North Arms has these for sale at $32.53 each: DURAMAG (by CPD) 5/30-round AR-15 5.56x45 Aluminum Magazine-BLACK. It says that they're "crimped."
They also carry the 5/20 round mags for those who still appreciate the Vietnam experience all over again.

I've seen other ones where the whole side is cut out to make an ejection port to prevent more rounds being loaded. Not sure about the strength of those ones.
