I think for most people, the correct answer is "whatever I can get my hands on".

I can't speak for the metal mags, but I have two of the polymer ones, and they are decent. Not great, but decent. The spring base plate was clearly filed by hand to make the final fit, and the follower leaves something to be desired. Still, I'm happy with them. They aren't quite PMAG quality, but that is more then made up by their other "features". Still better quality then some of the LAR-15 mags.

I would like under $30

:p
Don't hold your breath over that one... They were close to that price in the States before the CT incident, but to pin them, export them, and ship them to a Canadian retailer you're looking at next to no profit for the Canadian vendor if they want to actually move them (Notice how Armtac hasn't been pulling out all the stops to fill their orders).

This is all of course assuming that one can actually find 50 Beowulf magazines right now that don't already cost an arm and a leg in the US. Things changed in CT. It's going to be a while getting the train back on the tracks.

I'm genuinely concerned that exploiting these mags is going to result in a change to the "firearm it was built for" magazine law. Then no more LAR-15s.

Anything is possible, but know that the Government's Firearms Policy Review Commitee has already suggested removing magazine restrictions to the PMO, as per the FOI document released by the antis. Sure the CT incident will undoubtably have squashed that idea, but it's highly unlikely that the commitee will 180 on the topic. Politicians don't 180 unless they absolutely have to. For them, losing face is bad for business.

The 50 Beowulf mags are good to go for now. That said, there's little doubt the RCMP would raise hell if a 50 Beowulf pistol mag would have slipped into the system. Let's all be happy with 15 rounds for the forseeable future.

I voted for metal since I prefer the usgi look. I do think the poly mags would sell better to the majority of people through.
(I do have a poly mag on pre-order, really wish I ordered 3)
