I am interested to know if anyone has a source for CCI #35 primers for the 50 bmg in Canada, if not what are you using?

Also I need load data with RL25 in the 50 bmg with 650 gr ball and 750 gr A-max projectiles, I can't find anything with the RL25 and 50 bmg

Any help would be great! :)

Alberta Tactical Rifle in Calgary has 50 BMG primers. Reloader 25 may be to fast a powder. I use Hodgens 50 BMG poder or US 860 [Could be wrong on the number]. Alberta Tactical has all the components you will need and you aright in Calgary call them or stop in at the store they are good people

Yeah I will call them, thansk :)

Now as to the RL25, I don't think it would be too fast for the 50, its slower then h1000, and close to w870 for burn rate?

I can't help you with RL25 info , but I did try H50 BMG and US869 in my 50.
The lightest bullet I worked with was 750 gr.,and in my rifle US 869 showed the best results by far. 220 gr. with any 750 gr bullet shot very well.

I will try some 869 if I can find it.

I was hoping RL25 would do the trick as it's my go to powder for my 338, and I have... allot. hahaha

when I get set-up I will try a load or two, I saw on a pay-site that somebody used it and got almost as good as velocities as 869 with 650, and 750 gr bullets, however I would have to pay to get the amount of powder they used.... hahaha

It has a burn rate close to W860/870 so I will reduce those loads maybe and give it a whirl.

CCI 35s have not been legally exported from the US for several years so are hard to find here.
I assume there must be some reason you want 35s, but I can not think of a good one.
It is commonly held amongst serios 50 BMG shooters that the RWS primer is far superior and much easier to find in Canada.
I am not going to get into a debate as to why the RWS primers are better, but there is a ton of info on the FCSA site from well known shooters in the 50 community who have stated this.
Thankfully Rick at ATRS has a constant supply of RWS primers and the pricing is about the same as the CCIs used to sell for.
He has a good of stock on all other 50 cal components which makes it nice for us 50 cal shooters and to have an extremely knowledgeable 50 cal shooter here in Canada that is willing to share info and help new 50 cal shooters is an added bonus.

RL25 is not only too fast for most uses in a 50 but there may be a case capacity/loading density problem to look at too. If you are loading spotter or trace it may work, but I would not try it with a 647 or heavier bullet unless ou can find data.

Thanks for the kind words "D"
I agree RL25 would not be my 1st choice of powders. I prefer to use the right powder for the job, like H50BMG or US869.
Yes we have LOTS of RWS 5BMG primers in stock along with everything 1 could need to feed a 50 cal addiction:D as you well know.
