Anyone know where a guy can pick up a .50 BMG other than ############ in western Canada...preferrable Alberta??? It's not that I do not want to go with them, I would like to be able to compare pricing and shop around.

Also does anyone know about any new regs surrounding them. I know some states in the US are banning them.

Cheers,
Doc

Thanks guys, that's what I thought. Has anyone heard anything about any special Canadian regs, bans, restrictions etc. either currently pertaining to or in the future of.

Cheers

Never heard of any direct Canadian threats to restrict or ban them. There is a bunch of groups in the states that claim they are terrorist guns and hope to disarm the American public. That nonsense could easily cross borders. The best way to fight laws like this is in numbers. The more of us with 50 cals the harder it will be to single us out.

.50 Action

If you want to build one Barnard will have a 50 action in June.

Just woundering how much for the action only? Would like to build one in the near future.

Just saw a commercial 50 (don't remember the brand) at Bashaw Sports yesterday (780 372 4440) about $5700 and you can get one built through ProLine Shooters in Calgary for about that price (403 265 6666)

Alberta-Tactical-Rifle-Supply is the guy at PRoLine that builds 50s.

I'm not 100% sure but I think that PGW are busy building TWolves for the CF and not doing much else these days.

there was a guy in Red Deer last summer that had a nice McMllan 50 BMG for sale I went to look at and was going back the next day to give him a deposit but he did not want to sell it . I was nice I still not got one but need one have not found one I like other than the PWG that that would be a 3 year wait

Contact Gaétan Lépine at the address below. One of our competitors at the First Canadian .50 Cal Fun Shoot last year shot one of his rifles. It seemed very well made. You may also want to talk to Karl Schimd from K S Arms in Calgary. He can be reached at ksarms@telusplanet.net

With the dollar being so strong, importing becomes quite a viable option. You may not be able to get a 50BMG action but a 416 Barrett action should be fine for export.

As would a Rigby/Chey Tac action.
