50 cal Desert Eagle

I shot one in Vegas a few weeks ago, shot that, the Magnum Research BFR in .45/70 and the Smith & Wesson .500 Magnum

I am just waiting on the transfer to come through on my S&W .500

I found the Desert Eagle to be big and bulky, the shells eject out the top so you hope they clear your head otherwise you're going to get one between the eyes. I talked with the guys at the range and apparently if it does catch you in the head the shells can cut you and sometimes has issues jamming with the style ejector it has and they complained about reliability issues for long term use.

But man does it look mean...

Be sure you look at the price of .50AE ammo before you buy one. You'd either better have deep pockets or be comfortable not shooting it a lot.

I have a 44 mag DE in two tone color and it is fun to shoot. No problems with the brass either, ejects it well over my head. Heavy pistol, but that helps keep the recoil down enough that my 11 year old grandson shoots its.

I have the 50 in the standard matte black finish. I also have the .44magnum barrel and magazines for it, which is really nice.

I can put two or three boxes of .44 magnum through it, then one or two boxes of .50, without breaking the bank... much. :p

I also have the S&W 500 in the safe, and it is an absolute riot to shoot, but I find that I reach my limit for the day physically after about 10 shots with it.

For more pleasant shooting, and more frequently, go with the Desert Eagle, and maybe even try to find a seller with a .44 magnum barrel to make it cheaper still to shoot often.

Just my .02. :)
