Looking at new acquisition. Mag fed 10 round 50 bmg LR , price upto $8000 prefer the look and feel of tactical type rifles, appreciate any and all input so i purchase right size barrel etc. Anythoughts

Not to many are mag fed. You can get custom rifles in that range but most are single shot. The only other one I know of in country is that Black Arrow and it had a 5 round mag (I believe) and a $7K price tag with scope. I dont know if anyone has fired one yet....

Kind of gives you an idea.... there are others here that would know more.....

Mag-fed stuff is rare in Canada. Lots available Stateside.
There are at least 2 custom makers in Can. that could help you and explain all your available options.

You won't get anything like a Barrett shiped up here due to US export regulations. You are pretty much ooking the European market or points east of that.

Customs can be built up here, but when I was asking around I never asked about a mag fed beasty.

There are off the shelf options like the Steyr, (I believe Epps and Williams in Ontario both have one for around the $5600 range). Perhaps you could get one of those and have it chopped into a mag fed rifle.

The Black Arrow is a nice rifle, but I have no idea who would import it. Try Marstar. I have heard there import fees are reasonable.

BTW it's nice to see someone with a realistic price in their heads for a .50 :D

I thought you couldnt own a centerfire mag that will hold more than 5 rounds
so the 10 round thing is no good sorry

somebody didn't read my Newbie FAQ Section;)
the link is in my sigline below, and the info is there somewhere.

If I was buying one I would check with PGW Defence Technologies, the old Prairies Gun Works now renamed. I'm not sure of prices but I think that they will be within your price limit. Not sure if they do mag fed as their web site is under construction but e-mail links are there to contact them for questions.
