last sunday was windy and miserable so can's come to firm conclusion if weather, load,or my abilities came into play.

this sunday hopes to be calmer and i need to load 50 .223's

already have 50 primed with wicnchester small rifle and plan to use varget

seirra 69 grain will be the flavor of the day

i won't be able to get there beforehand to run various loads to see what works well

any suggestions??

i also have empty brass and some cci primers would it be worth the switch??/

55 grain winchester FMJ's grouped a whopping 14" at 300 M

Rifle is a savage 1 in 9 twist

what are u asking exacly? sounds like ur going with what u got. If u have some winchester primers and some cci maby go 25/25 and see if u find a difference. Try to record your elevation, temperature, the temp of the ammo, and humidity if possible as well for personal record.

how far are u shooting ?

You have to work up the load. Hodgdon gives 24.0 to 26.0(compressed) of Varget for a 69 grain bullet. Your rifle will very likely prefer the heavier bullet too. It clearly doesn't like the Winchester's. Has to do with the rifling twist. The 1 in 9 twist will stabilize the heavier bullet better than the light bullet.
If you change primers or any one component, you have to work up the load again.
'U' is not a word. Neither is 'ur' or 'exacly'.
