500/590 breacher

I have a question regarding the mossberg breacher chokes. Can the breacher be removed and replaced with a regular mossberg choke? I want a shorter shotgun but need a tighter choke for pest control. Would certainly be simpler than having a barrel shipped to a Smith to be threaded. I tried Google but didnt see an answer to this.

Factory Mossberg breecher barrels , the breecher devise is fixed , can't be removed.

If it were me I’d buy a barrel in the length you want that’s threaded for chokes, then I’d sell the barrel with the fixed breacher.

If by cutting it off , the barrel becomes under the magic number of 18 inchs , it's now a prohibated barrel and do not pass go.......
