Took the new shooting table out and went for a 500 yard shoot then moved out to 800. I started off by setting zero at 300 yards on paper. Groups were wide which was expected as my rifle does not seem to group well until it has had several foulers down the pipe and the barrel gets some heat into it.
Once I was happy with my zero I moved out to 500 yards (round target) which had 0-1 mph wind. I was getting used to new trigger spring and holding nice and steady as I am rusty. Dialed in 6.5 moa vertical for nosler ammo and 5 moa vertical for federals and if I held steady enough then I was hitting bulls eye. Rifle is capable of shooting tighter than I did today!
Onto the 800 yard target using only nosler ammo. Started out with a slight wind (about 5 mph) and I dialed in 1.5 moa or 2 moa depending on how wind felt, 19 moa vertical (bottom group). I could see I was hitting slightly low so I dialed up another 1/2 moa, wind picked up to 7-10mph at this point so I went to 4.5 moa for my windage. It then hit high at 19.5 moa but I left it alone. I think 19.25 moa vertical would have been bulls eye territory.
This was shot with my browning M-1000 eclipse in .300wsm with near 25moa base and near alpha rings with a Leupold VX-3 6.5-20x50mm scope. Bedded action and Timney 2lb trigger spring. Ammo used was Federal premium 180gr ammo and Nosler trophy grade 180g.
Red "bulls eye" is a 6" circle approx. The .300wsm didn't even scratch the steel on the ar500 targets
. I was also really impressed with the vertical stringing with the nosler ammo. Groups were pretty darn flat at 800 yards.

Next time I will put small target at 800 and big one at 1000. Fun stuff.
