I am thinking of taking the Milcun Basic Rifle Course in Haliburton ON this June. On the list of things to bring, they suggest 500 rounds of ammo for the five days of the course. I am sort of intimidated by this volume of ammo. Checking my reloading supplies, the most brass I have of any one type is 200. Do you guys regularly load up 500 or so of rifle? I suppose I could take a hand press and load up the same 200 over and over but??? Can anyone suggest a solution to my problem- who sell large lots of 223/22-250 brass. My 223 brass is Federal and my 22-250 mostly Winchester. Thanks.

I get my .223 and .308 by the thousand from Henry Nierychlo here on the forum - love it. It's usually crimped though, so be aware of that.
For non-crimped commercial mixed stuff, SFRC has .223 back in stock AFAIK. At $55 or something for 1,000pcs, you can't go wrong there... I pay just a tad more for my IVI/LC milsurp because I like the thicker structure; I find it holds up better in my semiautos.

"...who sell large lots of 223/22-250 brass..." Your local gun shop will order anything you want, in any quantity you want. Be prepared to pay up front though.
Take a drive to Shooter's Choice, in Waterloo or to Epp's, North of Orrillia. The former wants $21.95 per 50 for Remington .223. $30.95 per 50 for .22-250. Don't know what Epp's wants. They don't put prices on their site.
Don't be afraid to ask for a better price in either shop, if you buy 500. Buying the bullets and primers at the same time may help get you a better price too. Even when buying different bullets for each rifle.
Don't worry about 500 rounds. It's not that much. Certainly not a lot for a week's shooting. 500 .22-250 cases will last you until you're old and grey as well.

Don't load during the course if you can possibly help it. Your time there is *much* better spent talking to other people, relaxing, cleaning your rifle, thinking, sleeping, etc. *Having* to get XX rounds of ammo loaded for tomorrow or otherwise your don't shoot, is a terrible fix to be in.
