A shooting friend met me at the range yesterday and he brought along his 500 S&W. 
He had loaded it up with 350 and 400 grain bullets with near full house loads. I shot a clay pigeon at 75 yards that was on the bank at the back of the range, one shot one dead pigeon. Holy crap this thing is addictive and a two hander with shooting glasses for sure. The flame out of the barrel was about 3 feet long and about 18 inches out each side of the cylinder. It was louder than the 06 I brought to the range that day and it was blowing the condensation off the inside of the range enclosure. There was one observer remarking that the flame will definitely keep the skeeters away. I wish that I could legally hunt with a 500 S&W , I would sell most of my rifles and do some serious load development with it. I wonder who will make the first lever gun for it??????
