I spoke up for a 500 here about 6 months back and waiting for it to finally arrive...I have over 600 pounds of ww sitting here and was thinking I should get casting for my new arrival. What molds are you folks using? Any cast weight would be fine with me. Gonna be using a lyman 450 to size and lube them...any one also have a part number for the sizing die etc etc...????:dancingbanana::dancingbanana:

I'm using the Lyman #501680 mold, sized with the Lyman 4500 and the Lyman .501 H&I sizing die (Part# 2766525), the Lyman 649 top punch and lubed with Dragon Red.

I have 3 custom made moulds that I ordered from Mountain Molds, he makes excellent moulds. His online bullet design is a great feature, you can see the results of the changes you do to the mould design as you do them in the bottom left of the screen. His lead time is usually about 3 months to have your mould made.

I have or had:

- the Lee 450 gr (sold with my Handi-Rifle);
- a four cavity custom from NOE in 450-500-550-600 gr;
- a MiHec 700 gr; and
- the RCBS 520 North-South Skirmish (0.520" Diameter). It's adjustable from about 340 to 580 grs, and while more suited to my Swedish Rolling Block's 0.515" bore, I have sized it down in two steps (0.510", then 0.501") and used it in my Handi-Rifle while I owned it. It has very deep lube grooves, but with the mold set at 580 grs, there is a substantial unlubed base section. I expected leading, but did not get it.
