525 cast in 458WM

I usually load 500 Hornady's with 65 grains of IMR 4198 [max load from Hornady four edition manual] minimun load listed is 60.8 for2000 fps, now I want to load some 525 hard cast with 55 grains of IMR 4198, hoping for around 1800 fps, anybody try this load. Gun is a Ruger #1 tropical. I like 4198 for my 45/70 #1 with the 500 grain I loads are listed from 39 to 48 grains and all are accurate so I don't see why 55 with a 525 shouldn't work just fine. Any thoughts on this highly appreciated.:D
 
I'd start much lower and work up, I wouldn't be worried about pressure, it's the accuracy that i would be concerned with. Is this bullet the right size for your bore? Is it gas checked? How well is it lubed? You may find any one or more of many diff. factors can cause accuracy to fall off quickly at higher speeds/loads. My first attempt at cast bullets in the .458 resulted in bullets not hitting the target at all at 25 yds.
 
Bullet is the 525 postell FB from the Bullet Barn well lubed not gas checked they are very accurate out of my #3 Ruger 45/70 at about 1550 fps, my main concern was pressure and if its a safe load.

Substituted IMR 3031 & Reloader 7, & never looked back myself.
Actually the only 500 grain FMJs I personally shot, I used IMR 4064 and Hornaday loading data for the Ruger #1.
PS: At 55 grains of IMR 4198/heavy bullet, and a Ruger #1, I hope you have a good dental plan!
(Reloader 7 is less painful for those good dinosaur killing velocities IMHO!)

I know some of the slower powders have more loads listed, but I have a large supply of IMR 4198 and would prefer to use it with the 525 hardcast.
