53 gr Vmax in .223

Anyone running this combo? What oal did you start at? I'm gonna try benchmark first. Anyone have a Hornady manual handy for min/max loads? Thanks!

I have loaded 25.3gr of benchmark, win brass, win Sr primers. 3300fps, about MOA. I have loaded some at 25.5, 25.8 and 26.0 but have not tested yet. 2.27" COL. Hodgdon lists 26gr as max with 53gr bullets.

The 55 gr. V-Max with 20 gr. IMR 4198, netted me five shot one inch groups at 100 yards in my Axis.

Did some testing tonight. Ran through 25.4-26.0 in .3 grn increments. 26 grns won out with 6 shots in under 3/4", and I have a feeling on a calmer day with a better bench I bet it'll tighten up even more. Thanks for the tips!
