535 recoil pad

What's "snaggy"? The recoil pad on my Mossberg 535 seems to help and I'm not noticing a characteristic I would call "snaggy".

That's the best I could come up it. Grabby maybe, grabs my jacket and pull it up when I shouder fast. I am looking for one that would slide a little better.

Maybe it's the jacket, but if you really like that jacket for shooting ... if there is a gun shop close enough that has a few different types in stock perhaps it would help to try rubbing them on the fabric. I think the idea for some people at least would be to prevent the gun from moving in the shoulder.

I am looking for a pad that would have a more rounded shape at the top or maybe some kind of plastic cap like the inflex pads on the winchesters.

Anything like that available for the 535?

I don't know of anything specific for the 535 but there are various slip-on pads. Maybe one of those will work for you.

I have seen people who will wrap electrical tape around the sides of the recoil pad so that the sides don't snag so much and just leave the back open. It may be a low cost answer that helps you out.
