Has anyone owned one or still has one , I would like to know how they like it and what load they are shooting.
I'am looking at ordering one form Loyalist Arms

They are heavy but for what I have heard they are good guns. You might want to check out Shooter's Choice as they are a Pedersoli dealer and they do carry a decent inventory and I saw that the Pedersoli prices had dropped.

A few years ago I had a 50 cal it work fine and my father still has a 58. We got our share of deer. We removed the weight in the butt stock to lessen the weight. They had a bar of lead under the butt plate

I've got one of the centerfires in 45-70. Exceptionally well made, nice looking gun. Heavy, but decently balanced. It's very accurate with each barrel, but getting a load that groups both barrels together continues to elude me (after several years of trying!), so I'm forced to use a bit of Kentucky windage for the second shot. You might have an easier time of it with a muzzleloading version, even if you have to vary the load slightly for the two barrels. Bottom line, it's a lot of fun to shoot.

They have within the last few years released a much larger bore size in this gun, something like .69 or .72 as I recall. Now THAT would be a plinker to end all plinkers!

Good luck

I recently purchased a used one in 50 cal. I havn't had much chance to play with it but so far it shoots saboted 44mag bullets well and the barrells are very close to eachother at 50 yards. I tried some hornady 50 cal conicals and they didn't shoot well at all. Gonna try 50 cal roundballs but havn't had the chance yet. It is quite barrel heavy but a fine looking gun. Not certain if my sights are factory but it has two rear sights so if absolutely necessary you could sight in each sight for each barrel, however I hope to get mine to hit the same point of aim so I can use them as express sights for two ranges.
