The chicom stocks (to me don't look good refinished or not).. I dont like the wood they use..... keep the soviet stock as is... at least for a short time... I really like the laminates, and am curious if they are trickier to refinish or not.

This one is refinished,I removed the varnish finish, used 0000 steel wool to smooth it and put 3-4 coats of tung oil on it,Much nicer feeling to it now.

Then i removed the finish on a spare russian stock i had, sanded it with 100-200 grit to remove any oils it had inbedded in the wood and gave it a quick camo job

yummm.....drool..me likee the tung oil idea!......and who knows maybe ghost camo for the chicom:)
I do agree with the comment about the chinese stock...weird wood and it's crying for paint.I only want to do this paint thing once{not every other year like my deck} is it an automotive paint that can be used? And I'll assume that after tung oil no other sealer/varnish is required? Thanks for the comments:)

Oh and woodeneye,is that bad boy on top a 10-22? She looks menacing..which is a very good thing!!

Thanks fpr the comment Plinker 777,yes its a 10-22 that to much money was spent on but thats half the funw:h: And the more coats of oil you put on the better it looks. And The Krugan inspired me to do mine after seeing his.LOL
