540 vs Swiss arms uppers?

Not having ever handled the 540, I was wondering if it would be possible for a manufacturer to make a 540 upper or similar that would fit a Swiss arms classic green lower? Just wondering what the options might be for Swiss owners if the CPC does not step up.

Please excuse my ignorance of the difference of these two designs.

Unfortunately the demand for such an item (due to known Swiss Arms in the country) would not make the limited production run worth the dough & effort to even start.

I guess what I am really wondering is if a 540 upper could be made to fit - seeing as it already has an frt and are in production.

If you make a new upper to fit the swiss, it will be a swiss upper. It won't be a 540 upper as it wouldn't fit a 540.

Its like trying to grow an orange from an apple tree.

Ya...but a 540 upper is a 540...so if it can be made or modified with some tweaking to fit a Swiss lower it's still a 540. If that is not possible due to the design differences fine, but that is what I am asking.

It won't work. They are not interchangeable. For all the work just buy a complete 540.

If you are looking for a stripped 540 receiver to swap out, nothing will fit. Not the internals, not the barrel, not the hand guards.

Two different guns. Same family of guns, but not the same.

The receiver dimensions are different so you can't take the lower from one and mount it on another. Also as pointed out no parts are interchangeable except the charging handle and pistol grip so changing out parts is not an option.

Thanks, that's what I wanted to know. Bummer. Oh well the CPC has our backs right? ....and back to the reclassification sub forum.
