.545 lead projectiles, where used

goo day all CGNers, I have a quantity of lead projectiles 0.545 diameter, some are wax coated other plain lead in a couple different weights, pretty big slug anyway I got them to melt down however maybe someone has a idea what they are for?

Most likely 54 caliber muzzle loading flintlock or traditional caplock rifle. (or perhaps a reproduction pistol too)

Rifle bore diameters can vary somewhat according to manufacturer's specifications.

Chances are very good that they are pure lead.
