personnally i dont like the chinesse stuff , some guys have reported that they get some trouble with the case sometime , i stick with the russian/ bulgarian stuff for 224$ + tax for 880 of bulgarian cant go wrong
I'm shooting the new Norc, no problems so far in my svt. Will be buying a mosin and another 1000 rounds of the Norc soon, I'm sure the surplus Russian is fine as well.
I ran both in my M44 last time I was at the range. Both shoot about the same, the Chinese stuff I found took more effort when cycling the action. Not sure if the rim is slightly thicker than on the Russian stuff - just made the bolt feel more stiff. Personally I'll be sticking with the Russian stuff till it runs dry
The New Norc stuff from Can AM is machine gun quality ammo. There is speck sheet under the lid of each crate. Although it will go bang, don't expect tremendous accuracy from it.
Last time I had my svt out I was hitting a 10-12" steel brake drum at 100 yards with no problems with the new Norc x54r, it's dirty ammo but it goes bang and is accurate enough for me. I had a couple packs of Russian or Romanian surplus with me as well but never used it, just ran 50-70 rounds of the Norinco through it and put a bunch of surplus through the sks.
I would just be using it in a 91/30 sniper a fin m91 i get about 3-4 moa with the sniper and about 3 moa or better with the m91 using the silvertip russian. Not sure what to get now with the mixed answers lol
Only one way to find out in the end, buy some and you'll have your answer. Check and see if CanAm sells it in a small package and test it out.
Edit: CanAm sells 125rnd packs for $36.99 plus shipping, that's a trip or two to the range depending on how you shoot. Enough to know if you want to buy a 1000rnds or stick with your Russian surplus.
