Just a reminder that this shoot starts this Friday. There are a few spots open if you are interested in shooting. Alternatively, if you are in the area, stop in and say hello.

How about posting scores here?

Brad:

Can't make it this year, but am interested in who's shooting great. How about posting the scores here, just a cut and paste would be great!

Just a quick update from today's action (long day and just got in.... another long day tomorrow).

Perfect weather and a mild breeze made for an enjoyable first day of the Canadian Skeet Championships at the Dartmouth Clay Target Association.

Nearly 60 shooter registered for the doubles. After the smoke cleared 97's were the top score of the morning. At shoot-off time, Steve Loveday (Champ) was the last man standing after outlasting Brad McRae (Runner up).

62 shooters competed in the 12ga, with 5 shooters finishing with the top score of 99. Steve Loveday (Champ) this time outlasted Don Boulter (Runner Up).

The 20ga and 28ga go tomorrow. More updates to come as time allows.

Brad.

Saturday kicked off with the 20 Gauge in the AM. Lindsay Coyle and Willy Wong started the day off strong with 100s. Michael Blades added another.

After the shootoff, Lindsay Coyle emerged as this year's 20 Gauge Canadian Open Champion. Michael Blades finished as Runner Up.

"Team Ontario" is putting up a strong showing this year. After Loveday took both championships on Friday, Lindsay made it 3 of 3.

In the 28 Gauge, Les Turner put up the only 100x100 for Champion. Michael Blades finished as Runner Up again.

In the HOA picture heading into the .410, Blades is leading and is shooting very well.

The weather has been outstanding so far with warm and sunny the last 3 days. There is some cool and rain forecast for Sunday which could make for an interesting finish.

Sunday brought the .410 and the standard .410 weather.

The regular cool, calm and sunny mornings were replaced with a warmer, windier overcast day with rain storms visible around the club. By early afternoon the sun did threaten to break through and the winds did let up a tad.

When the .410 dust settled, Michael Blades continued with another very strong performance winning the event outright with a 98x100. Willy Wong finished as Runner Up after beating out Don Boulter and Brad McRae with 96's.

Blades took the High Over All Championship with a final score of 395x400.

Willy Wong took the High Over All Runner up with a 390 after demolishing Brad McRae for a second time in another shootoff.

Blades also won the High All Around championship with a 490x500 with McRae as Runner up at 487x500.

Full scores and results to follow (in a week or so)

Brad and Co - That was a well run and enjoyable shoot.

Is it decided where and when for next year yet? Steve Grover

Thanks Steve. It was good meeting you on the weekend.

The 2010 location/date has not yet been determined. We will be soliciting bids in the next several weeks and hope to have a decision by fall.

Brad.
