556 62gr in Ruger Ranch

Just recieved a Ruger Ranch in 223,
Will shoot the 62 gr bullets & stablize them.Any info much App. DAN>>>

I recently got a used Target model in Mini 14. All the newer barrels are 1 in 9 inch twist. So, it should shoot everything from mid 40 to mid 60 grain. I haven't put many rounds through it yet. So far the 55 grain Winchester seemed to shoot best. But that may have a lot to do with my skill level...or lack thereof. From what I have read so far, buy yourself a box of different brands and grains and head to the range. Some guns like different stuff. The Mini 14 seems to change accuracy for the worse after the barrel gets hot.

Your Ranch has 1 in 9 rifling too. Heavy bullets should be fine. Don't expect Target Rifle accuracy though.

The older Mini-14's had a 1/10, you can check it with a cleaning rod and a ruler. The ones that I've seen on the range, did the best with 55gr and lower.
