.556 Belt Link Value??

Not worth very much.
I wound up with about a thousand 7.62 x 51 belt links for an M60.
Could only get $15 for the lot.

The best idea I could think of was link together long belts of empty casings just because they look cool.
Dress up the gun room a bit. Conversation starter.

Check out good old SOR 98-462

"(f) is of the “belt” type consisting of a fabric or metal belt, is not a reproduction and was originally designed or manufactured for the purpose of feeding cartridges into a automatic firearm of a type that was in existence before 1945."

Give that 5.56 wasn't around before 1945...links assembled together with more than 5 rounds on them could be more trouble than they're worth!

Henry at Budget Shooters Supply (site sponsor) sells M60 links...check pricing there...

So just don't link live ammo? If you link dummies or empty brass to hang on the mantle there's nothing criminal.

I had a pile of it some years back and sold 10rnd dummies linked together to airsofters. FMJ bullets in brass but no primers or powder. They wanted them to put on their M249 airsoft guns to cover up the cables and tubes that fed from the hopper. Can't ship dummy rounds with Canada Post without violating their rules but this was all local guys.

You can buy 50rnd dummy belts from surplus stores so I can't see the police cracking down on it.
