55gr ammo in 1:8 twist 24" barrel question

Will work OK, but you will likely get better accuracy with a heavier bullet. I just had my RRA 16" Varmint out to the range for the first time. It was printing 1.5"-1.75" 5rd groups at 200yds with American Eagle 62g FMJs. Winchester USA 55g were running around 2.5". I have some Winchester Supreme 69g Match ammo that I want to try out as soon as I can get a different mag than the stupid 5/30. I can't get the stock down into my rear bag properly because the mag sticks down too far. Have some 5rd mags coming from Brownell's. YMMV.
