Well, I just got back from a mooseless moose hunt (saw lots of cows and calves, but no bulls), but I did manage to tag this brown phase black bear with my .58 ca muzzle loader shooting 565gr maxi ball over 110gr ff powder. Perfect shot through the lungs at 60 yards and the bear fell over after running about 30 yards. I've never taken anything with the muzzle loader before and I must say, it was pretty fun. HUGE holes in the animal as well, which makes for a fast kill. Just an average sized bear, but a real nice pelt, and I can smell those bear smokies on the barby already!
