590 vs 590A1

I know the differences between the two and I have an A1. Wanting to know if the the lighter profile barrel on the regular 590 makes a noticeable difference with handling.

Does anyone have experiences with the two?

Yes, I have both. Main differences I know of are barrel profile (thick vs regular), trigger guard material (polymer vs metal) and safety material (again polymer vs metal).

I have both in 20". I find the regular 590 is lighter in the front end and it has a better "more balanced" feel, for me anyway. The barrel is still plenty thick for what I am using it for and I don't forsee any issues.

My 500 vs 590A1, there's a big difference in front mass. 500 is lighter, but the 590A1 is made for hard duty. I prefer the balance of the 14" or 18.5" barreled 590A1 w/5 shot mag compared to the 20" w/8 shot which is a little top heavy. Just my opinion though.

As for the differences between the 500 and the regular (non-A1) 590, there doesn't seem to be much that I can see.

I have 2 590 20" barrel and a 18" 590A1 , balance feels better on the non-A1's And I can't tell any difference in recoil between them .
